Courtsey of Stephen Wolf
Absolutely brilliant! I have always admired how the Dayton lads, after their 1902 glider trials, moved to high aspect ratio wings and the low-drag wing-warping for the crucial lateral control. And just as importantly was the sheer genius of those large diameter, slow-revving prop. blades. Way more efficient at converting torque to thrust than any of their contemporaries. We need to remind ourselves that they produced a real AEROPLANE...not just a ground-hugging contraption.
