Handley Page Halifax Mk.III, R9534 prior to May 1943 when it was fitted with 'D' style fins. The yellow painted P in a circle on the side of the fuselage indicates that this aircraft is designated as a prototype, in this case B Mk. III and has been fitted with the shallow A Mk. VIII four gun mid upper turret.
