Digital F-16XL tests complete

A new digital flight control system (DFCS) fitted in NASA's F-16XL research aircraft by Lockheed Martin has successfully completed flight trials at NASA Dryden Research Center, California. The updated DFCS, also fitted in Block 40 F-16s, replaces the aircraft's previous analogue system and will allow NASA to cut the cost of development work on flight control software.
