Libyan airline Afriqiyah Airways has launched its first regular services to Europe, with a three-times-weekly service between Tripoli and Brussels. The airline, which is wholly owned by the Libyan government, operates two Boeing 737-400s on wet-lease from Italian carrier Blue Panorama. The airline has ambitions for a pan-African network, and currently serves Abidjan, Ivory Coast; Bamako, Mali; Cotonou, Benin; Dakar, Senegal; Kano, Nigeria; Karthoum, Sudan; Ndjamena, Chad; Niamey, Niger and Ouagadoudou, Burkina-Faso.
