Mitsubishi wins Japan satellite contract
Mitsubishi Electric has won its first commercial communications satellite contract, from Japan’s Space Communications for Superbird 7, set for launch in 2008. The 5t-class satellite, carrying 17 Ku-band transponders, is based on Mitsubishi’s DS2000 bus, used for the Japanese transport ministry’s MTSAT-2 multifunction satellite.
