Bush signs law allowing NASA to buy Soyuz

US President George Bush signed into law the Iran Nonproliferation Amendments Act of 2005, which modifies the Act of 2000 to allow payments to Russian entities for services for the International Space Station (ISS). This will enable NASA to pay Russia’s Federal Space Agency for Soyuz launches so the USA can fulfil its responsibility, under the ISS treaty, to provide emergency crew return from 2006.
