Poland's LOT dismisses CEO Grabarek

Flight International Online news 10:00GMT: Polish flag carrier LOT has dismissed CEO Marek Grabarek and two board members and is preparing to start a search for a replacement top executive.

Star Alliance member LOT says in a statement on its website that Grabarek was dismissed by the carrier’s supervisory board at a meeting on 19 December. Also dismissed at the meeting were board members Wladyslaw Metelski and Piotr Dubno.

Grabarek, who was appointed CEO in 2003, has been replaced on an interim basis by supervisory board member Tomasz Kopoczynski.

In addition, says LOT, supervisory board president Piotr Czyzewski and one of the supervisory board’s members, Slawomir Lachowski, have resigned.

LOT says a search for a replacement CEO will begin after a supervisory board meeting scheduled for 29 December.

No reason is given for the dismissals and resignations.
