R-R looks to USA for 787 Trent assembly

Rolls-Royce favours the USA as a base for its Trent 1000 engine assembly plant, set to start operations as 787 production ramps up, although a decision on the location of the new facility is not planned until next year. Washington state governor Christine Gregoire says she has already presented the case for the Trent 1000 facility to be located near the 787 assembly plant in Everett. R-R says that, although it favours a US location for the new facility, “we are still evaluating a number of potential locations around the world”.
