Aircraft
Italian carrier Air One has selected Airbus for its fleet renewal programme, signing for 30 A320s from the European manufacturer and placing options on 60 more.
Air One’s A320s will be powered by CFM International CFM56 engines and configured in a two-class, 159-seat layout.
Rome-based Air One becomes a new Airbus customer as a result of the deal. It is currently an all-Boeing operator, with a fleet of 29 Boeing 737-200s, -300s and -400s, but says it will gradually replace these aircraft with the Airbus narrowbodies.
Air One president Carlo Toto says: “After a lengthy and very detailed evaluation of competing aircraft, we are fully convinced to have chosen the most efficient and comfortable aircraft available. The new aircraft will allow a valuable cost reduction and increase in productivity thanks to increased efficiency.”
