P&W launches CFM56 parts business

Pratt & Whitney has launched Global Material Solutions (GMS), a new business that will offer CFM56 engine operators a fresh choice in new parts. United Airlines has signed on as the new business’s launch customer, with a long-term parts agreement for its fleet of 98 CFM56-powered Boeing 737s.

“We are now able to offer customers a dependable choice for all their CFM56-3 materials at a competitive price, and we’re delighted that United Airlines, one of our oldest and most valued partners, has signed on as our launch customer,” says Louis Chênevert, P&W president.

P&W’s GMS is a natural extension of the company’s extensive portfolio of CFM56 engine services, including fleet and material management programmes for total engine care and new spare parts, parts repair and commercial serviceable materials.

P&W’s GMS will be headed by Matthew Bromberg as vice-president and general manager. Bromberg was previously P&W’s vice-president of strategy and development.
