Australian air traffic services provider Airservices Australia and aeronautical communications provider SITA have teamed up to provide
automatic dependent surveillance–broadcast (ADS-B) services to the Asia-Pacific region. The first result of the alliance will be an ADS-B trial in
Indonesia that is due to start in May. For the Indonesian trial three ADS-B receivers will be deployed at SITA sites – in Bali, Kupang and Natuna.
Meanwhile, Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority has granted navigation specialist Naverus instrument flight procedure design certification, allowing the Seattle-based company to design and maintain required navigation (RNP) approach and departure procedures for Australian airspace performance.
