WTO to examine new claims

The World Trade Organisation has set up a panel to examine what the European Union claims are US government subsidies to Boeing, after Brussels complained that the USA had not co-operated in providing information (Flight International, 7-13 February). The EU has requested the establishment of the panel to help solve the impasse.

The USA has also asked for more consultations with the EU, claiming it had continued to offer Airbus new subsidies not included in its original complaint.
