Mesa Air Group has scheduled a June 9 launch for its Hawaiian regional inter-island startup, which today was unveiled as Go.

Go’s website has started accepting reservations for Bombardier CRJ200 services connecting Hilo, Honolulu, Kona, Lihue and Maui.

It is promoting one-way fares as low as $39, and a new frequent-flyer program.

“We chose the name Go because that’s exactly what we think people want: a reliable, quick, no-hassle way to get from point to point across the state,” says Mesa chairman and CEO Jonathan Ornstein in a statement.

He adds: “We have the absolute lowest fares between the islands and we encourage people to take advantage of them.”

Mesa’s bid to launch Go has been challenged in court by Hawaiian Airlines, which claims the Phoenix-based company improperly retained and used “valuable trade secrets and proprietary information” it received when Hawaiian was operating under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

A countersuit filed by Mesa last week alleges the Honolulu-based carrier is violating antitrust law by trying to prevent the regional carrier from launching inter-island service.
