Russian aircraft manufacturer Sukhoi Civil Aircraft is set to provide four Russian Regional Jets to GTK Rossiya, the airline that operates flights for president Vladimir Putin.
The manufacturer is currently waiting for specifications from GTK and director general Victor Subbotin says the contract, for four RRJ-95s, could be signed in the coming months. “We are now working on a contract – we would like to have it signed by the end of the year.”
The contract would take Sukhoi’s total firm orders for the RRJ to 44. It already has agreements in place to supply 30 RRJ-95s to Aeroflot and 10 to a financing company. The first flight of the RRJ is scheduled for September next year.
