Pictures: Airbus to launch A350 cabin interiors mock-up this week

Airbus will unveil a mock-up of the cabin interior of its A350 medium twin this week at the Aircraft Interiors conference in Hambug tomorrow.

Airbus will display a full-scale 12m (39ft 7in) cabin mock-up at the show and has released some initial concept impressions (pictured below).

Airbus says: "The entrance area features a new circular design, which includes also the door area to allow a smart integration of fittings, such as galleys, wash rooms and social areas". The airframer points to new features such as larger windows for more natural light, a mood light system and projection technologies to allow the display of virtual images onto the ceiling (pictured below).

The cabin's new overhead bins are large enough to fit more than two standard roller bags per passenger in business class (pictured below) and more than one per economy passenger, the manufacturer adds.

The new design is a cooperation between Airbus design teams in its cabin centre of excellence in the Hamburg area, those in the Toulouse headquarters and London-based design firm Priestman Goode.
