Italian industry minister Claudio Scajola and his Russian counterpart Viktor Khristienko last week signed a preliminary agreement in Moscow clearing the way for Alenia Aeronautica to buy 25% plus one share of the capital of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft. The Russian manufacturer is leading development of the Russian Regional Jet (RRJ). Sukhoi head Mikhail Pogosyan said the deal is expected to be finalised by year-end. The RRJ is due to go into production next year.
