Airbus China is prepared to grant Beijing a 10% share in future aircraft programmes, according to Airbus China president Laurence Barron, who spoke last week during a ministerial visit to Beijing by a delegation from France’s transport ministry.

The European airframer is already committed to giving China Aviation Industries (AVIC) I and II a combined 5% workshare in the A350 long-haul widebody twinjet programme covering components for the aircraft on a first-tier supplier risk-sharing basis.

Airbus is also expected to announce in the near future the site of an A320 final assembly line in China, under an agreement with Beijing, to produce four aircraft per month within two years of its opening.
