LAN’s affiliates in Ecuador and Peru will soon be put forward as members of the oneworld alliance, says Enrique Cueto, LAN chief executive. “It will be announced in the short-term.”

“We are working on LAN Ecuador and LAN Peru to become part of oneworld,” he said at a oneworld press conference. The head of Chile's flag carrier notes that their membership needs the agreement of the other members. In the past, their application to join had been blocked by American Airlines and Iberia.
