ANA plots low-fare carrier moves
All Nippon Airways (ANA) will launch a domestic low-fare carrier in 2009 and also wants a low-fare carrier to serve Asian routes. The carrier’s chief executive Mineo Yamamoto says the domestic and international low-fare carriers will operate from Tokyo Haneda airport, but not be marketed under the ANA brand. “We think that what happened in the USA with low-cost carriers will also happen in Japan,” says Yamamoto.
