Boeing is to display an EVA Air Boeing 777-300ER at next month’s Farnborough International air show, which takes place at the Hampshire, UK site between 17 and 23 July.

The US manufacturer has charted the Taiwanese independent carrier’s most recently delivered 777-300ER to display at the show. The 777 will be in the static display all week, and may participate in the flying display on the final day. A traditional Chinese dragon dance will be performed beside the aircraft on the opening day, 17 July.

Powered by General Electric GE90-115B engines, EVA’s 777-300ERs are equipped with a three-class 316 passenger cabin. They are also fitted with the Boeing Class 3 Electronic Fight Bags (EFB).

EVA, which introduced its first 777-300ER in July last year (pictured above), has now received two of the 12 aircraft it has on order. The 777-300ERs wear a special paint scheme which incorporates the model identification for the new aircraft boldly emblazoned on both sides.

Boeing, unlike Airbus, has not traditionally participated with airliners in flying displays at air shows. Although in August 1955 the prototype 707 famously did a barrel-roll over Lake Washington during the SeaFair Gold Cup Hydroplane race in Seattle.
