GA pilots to have option to ditch paper and go electronic

US-based general aviation pilots will have an option to go paperless with charts and documents if they like the eFlyBook, an electronic notepad that can store 100Mb of graphics, flightplan forms and data.

The notepad is also stylus-writable, say distributor Arinc and manufacturer iRex Technologies. Arinc adds that the eFlyBook's matt display looks just like the paper charts it replaces, and that it provides glare- free readability even in direct sunlight with a battery life between recharges of approximately 10h.
