Boeing yesterday 're-delivered' the fourth aircraft from its 747-400 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) programme.

Korean Air Cargo received the aircraft, which was converted by Boeing's supplier Taikoo (Xiamen) Aircraft Engineering (TAECO) in Xiamen, China.

Separately, Korean Air Aerospace Division (KAAD) in Pusan began work on 4 August on a 747-400 conversion of its own. For this conversion and several others, Boeing will supply a freighter kit, which KAAD will use to convert and certificate a combination of its own and other airlines' 747-400 passenger aircraft into freighters. Korean Air has six firm freighter kits remaining on order with options for 13 more kits. 

Last December, launch customer Cathay Pacific Airways took delivery of the first 747-400BCF and the BCF programme has announced 43 firm orders and 23 options, with eight conversions are scheduled for 2006.
