Airbus last week flew the first General Electric/Pratt & Whitney Engine Alliance GP7200-powered A380 test aircraft, several months later than originally planned. MSN009 is the fifth and final aircraft to enter the A380 flight-test programme, and was airborne for 4h 10min during its 25 August maiden flight. The four other test aircraft are equipped with the rival Rolls-Royce Trent 900 powerplant and have together accumulated 1,800h.
