Embraer has revised downward its delivery forecast for this year, citing production ramp-up issues with its E-190 and E-195 regional jets.

The Brazilian manufacturer says in a statement revealing third-quarter deliveries that it has “revised its delivery forecast for 2006 to 135, from the 145 originally forecast”.

However it now expects to deliver at least 160 aircraft next year, up from an original estimate of 150, “compensating for this year’s delays”. A final delivery estimate will be provided in November, it adds.

During the third quarter Embraer delivered 30 aircraft, lifting the nine-month figure to 93. Deliveries included one ERJ-145, nine E-170s, three E-175s, eight E-190s, one E-195 and eight Legacy 600 business jets.

Embraer says its firm order backlog increased 29% in value during the quarter, to $13.3 billion.
