Northwest Airlines is to introduce the Bombardier CRJ900 and Embraer 175 regional jets – both 76-seaters – to its fleet. The US major is ordering 36 E-175s for newly created subsidiary Compass Airlines, and 36 CRJ900s for its mainline operation. Separately, Embraer has revised downward its delivery forecast for this year – from 145 to 135 – citing production ramp-up issues with its E-190 and E-195 jets.
