Picture: Royal New Zealand Boeing 757 flies with RAF Eurofighter Typhoon in rehearsal for fly-past tomorrow over London

One of two Royal New Zealand Air Force Boeing 757-2K2 transports was practising with three RAF Eurofighter Typhoons today at RAF Coningsby for tomorrow's planned fly-past to mark the dedication of the New Zealand Memorial

The Typhoons, from 3 Sqn were flying in formation with the 757 from RNZAF base Ohakea earlier today in a sneek preview of the display lined up for tomorrow (pictured below).

The aircraft will fly in an as-yet-unconfirmed formation overhead at the unveiling of the NZ Memorial, which commemorates the "enduring bonds between New Zealand and the UK, and shared sacrifice during times of war." The memorial (an artist's impression of which is pictured below), organised by the New Zealand culture ministry Te Manatu Taonga, is set to be unveiled tomorrow (Armistice Day) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.  

 

Over 250 New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) personnel from its army, navy and air force, will take part in the dedication, making it the largest group of NZDF personnel to deploy to the UK since the Queen’s Coronation in 1953.
