Libyan energy company Sirte Oil has been named as the customer for an Embraer 170 regional jet.
The deal, previously listed on the Brazilian airframer’s backlog as an undisclosed order, marks the first sale of an Embraer type to Libya.
Sirte Oil, one of the operating subsidiaries of Libya’s National Oil Corporation, is scheduled to take delivery of the 76-seat corporate shuttle in March next year (pictured below). The aircraft will be used to transport company employees between its headquarters in Marsa al-Burayqah to Tripoli and other operating bases in the country.
