Mexican low-cost carrier Interjet has firmed up its options with Airbus for the purchase of ten more A320s.

The Toluca-based carrier signed a memorandum of understanding with Airbus for ten A320s plus ten options during the Paris air show in June 2005. This MOU was finalised in October 2005.

Airbus says the ten options were firmed up at the end of last month.

Interjet will begin taking delivery of the A320s in the second quarter of this year and expects to take delivery of four aircraft each year through to 2011. The carrier has selected CFM International’s CFM56-5B engines to power the aircraft.

Interjet began domestic services from its Toluca base on 1 December 2005 with a fleet of three leased A320s.
