Bell Helicopter delivered the first production AH-1Z to the US Marine Corps on 25 January. The delivery, and that of the first production UH-1Y this month, was postponed from late last year by issues revealed during flight testing, forcing parent company Textron to take a $50 million charge. The company believes design and production issues have been overcome.
