The deadline for entering the Flight Awards is only three weeks away!
This year the event takes place on evening of 18th June 2007 at the Pavillon d'Armeononville at the Paris Airshow.
The Awards brings together the industry's two major awards schemes from the Flight Group - the 14 year-old Aerospace Industry Awards and the more recent Aviation Excellence Awards.
And for the first time the Awards will incorporate interactive nominations and on-line voting in the product categories, while retaining the skills of an expert panel of judges at the final stage.
The categories are listed below:
Air Transport
Defence
Business Aviation
Propulsion, systems and avionics
The nominations process is simple. Entries should consist of a piece of text not more than 200 words as to why the particular development or individual would be worthy recipients of a Flight award and why that particular entry meets the judging criteria.
Additional material can be attached in the form of hyperlinks to web-based material to support the nomination.
Companies and individuals can nominate themselves or others whom they believe to be worthy recipients of a Flight Award.
In the case of technology and product awards these nominations will then go into an on-line voting system on www.flightglobal.com where users can cast their votes on the entries. From this process a shortlist of entrants will be generated to go before the judging panel to select the final winners.
In the case of awards to achievements in the operational sector - for people and teams - nominations will be formed into a short-list by senior Flight International staff - and it is from this short-list that the panel of judges will select the winners.
Contenders will then be notified and the awards will be presented at a glittering awards ceremony during the Paris Airshow in front of the good and great of the industry on the evening of Monday June 18 2007 at the Pavillon d'Armeononville.
