Military trainers review: CATIC

CATIC

China's CATIC and Hongdu and the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex have co-operated in the development of the K-8 jet trainer, which has been exported to countries including Egypt, Sri Lanka, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Last month Gambia became the latest customer to field the type, when its air force took delivery of its first two of four aircraft on order.

Zimbabwe in 2006 signed a $140 million deal with China to double the size of its K-8 fleet to 12 aircraft, with deliveries under way.
