Sikorsky’s new S-92 multi-mission helicopter has demonstrated its ability to discharge chaff and flare countermeasures in a test at the US Naval Weapons Test Centre at China Lake, California.
The ALE-47Chaff and Flare Counter Measures dispensing System is widely used on US military helicopters and is part of the S-92’s standard survivability suite which includes the AAR-47 Missile Warning System and APR-39 Radar Warning Receiver.
