Messier-Dowty has delivered the first nose landing gear unit for the Boeing 787.
The gear will now be shipped to Wichita, Kansas where it will be installed into the forward fuselage section of the aircraft. Once installed the whole assembly will be transferred to Boeing’s Everett, Washington final assembly plant in the 747 Large Cargo Freighter.
“The next major delivery milestone for Messier-Dowty will be the first production main gear in April 2007,” says Messier-Dowty.
Messier-Dowty’s manufacturing facilities based in Bidos, France; Gloucester, UK; Montreal and Suzhou, China are involved in the production of the 787 landing gear.
