At least three Airbus aircraft suffered damage in last week's fire at Middle East overhaul firm Gulf Aircraft Maintenance (Gamco). The fire began in an Airbus A300 thought to belong to Qatar Airways.
Also damaged was a four-year-old Air Mauritius A319 parked next to the A300. "According to initial information the tail of the [A300] collapsed and parts fell on our aircraft," says the airline.
India's Kingfisher Airlines says it had an Airbus A320 in the same hangar awaiting a C1 check and installation of in-flight entertainment systems. The aircraft escaped with "little damage", but was subjected to "falling debris", says the airline.
