Eurocopter installs simulators

Eurocopter is installing flight training devices, including six-axis, full-motion simulators for its EC135 light twin-engined helicopter at its Donauwörth, Germany and Dallas, USA facilities.

The aim is to offer its customers a realistic mission environment, thereby increasing safety, handling emergencies and operational proficiency.

The simulators should be certificated for training in March 2008 and will conform to JAR-STD2H Level 3 and FAA Part 60 FTD Level 6.

Training courses that will use the new devices include standard and recurrent training such as type rating, emergency refresher, instrument flight, GPS approaches and mission-specific training.
