The first Falcon 7X (s/n05) entered service last Friday. Gilbert Chagoury, founder and chairman of the Chagoury Group, took delivery of Dassault’s new fly-by-wire bizjet at Le Bourget. S/n 04, on display at Dassault’s static park, has been bought as a personal transport by Groupe Dassault chairman Serge Dassault and will be at the Paris Air Show all week.

“The technical achievements of the 7X programme and the dedication of the engineers and Dassault employees worldwide is well known,” says John Rosanvallon, Dassault Falcon’s president and CEO. “However, equally important is the support and encouragement of the Falcon 7X customers like Gilbert Chagoury who have been with us through every step of the development, manufacturing and flight test process.”

The PW307A powered trijet features the EASy flight deck and has a range of 1,950nm carrying eight passengers at Mach 0.80. It was simultaneously certified by both EASA and the FAA in April and already has a production backlog of 165. Dassault also recently announced an upgrade to its twin-engine Falcon 2000DX, to which it added winglets, increasing the range by 200nm to 4,000nm. Named the 2000LX, the latest derivative will be certified by the end of the year.
