Boeing 787 production could be set to reach up to 16 aircraft a month, says Ultra Electronics, a programme supplier. The UK company's chief executive Douglas Caster says discussions are under way with Boeing about the production of between 14 and 16 aircraft a month.
The current production plan calls for 112 aircraft to be built in 2008 and 2009, ramping up to perhaps 10 aircraft a month in 2010. Boeing is known to be considering a further ramp-up in 2011 or 2012.
