Caribbean Sun Airlines, which ceased operations earlier this year, is looking to relaunch services by late 2007 with Boeing 737s.

The airline says it will maintain its headquarters in Miramar, Florida, outside Fort Lauderdale.

Other details about the size of Caribbean Sun's fleet and its route structure have not been disclosed.

Speaking in May at the annual Regional Airline Association conference in Memphis, Tennessee, Skip Barnette, president and chief executive of Caribbean Sun and its Antiguan sister Caribbean Star, revealed Sun's interest in resuming services.

"We're looking at a partner, not necessarily as an intra-island operation but as a major airline using jets," he said. Caribbean Sun operated a fleet of Bombardier Dash 8s from San Juan, Puerto Rico before its closure in January.
