3M Aerospace paints a new picture for repairs

3M Aerospace (booth 641) is featuring its exterior and interior expertise through regular demonstrations of a new paint repair process, a 3 x 4ft (0.9 x 1.2m) interior panel covered with 19 different 3M products, and an area displaying three flame-retardant adhesives.

A 3M expert technician is demonstrating a step-by-step repair process for 16 common paint defects, which consists of removing defects and detailing to create a high-quality finish. The 3M 3 x 4ft aircraft interior panel shows off low-density void fillers, masking tapes, abrasives and other compounds.

The flame-retardant products featured include 3M Glass Cloth Tape 398FR, 3M Flame Retardant VHB Tape 5958FR and 3M Carpet Tape 9377, all used to protect aircraft interiors and provide high-strength adhesion.

“We are featuring our products in a different and unique way that will educate and keep the attention of the NBAA audience as well as responding to industry needs,” says Bret Anderson, OEM/Tier market development manager for 3M Aerospace.
