Four more airlines to use Singapore Changi's Terminal 3

Four more airlines are to shift to Singapore Changi Airport’s new Terminal 3, which opened for commercial operations yesterday.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore says in a statement that China Eastern Airlines, Jet Airways, Qatar Airways and United Airlines will all commence operations at Terminal 3 in March.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) is currently the only carrier using Terminal 3, although it is now splitting its operations between the new terminal and Terminal 2.

The new terminal was built at a cost of around S$1.75 billion ($1.2 billion) and it is the airport’s largest, at 380,000m2. It is able to handle around 22 million passengers per year, lifting the airport’s total to around 70 million.
