A Boeing F-15, operated by the Hawaii National Guard, crashed in to the Pacific Ocean at around 13.37 on Friday 1 February.
The pilot was conducting routine training and ejected safely from the F-15 aircraft about 60 miles south of Honolulu International airport. He was picked up by a coast guard helicopter at 14:15.
A statement from Hickam Air Force base says that he was taken to hospital and is in good condition.
The F-15 belongs to the 199th Fighter Squadron, 154th Wing of the Hawaii Air National Guard.
An investigation into the accident is currently underway.
