Willie Walsh, British Airways
British Airways chief executive Willie Walsh is a veteran of the airline industry. He joined Aer Lingus in 1979 as a cadet pilot after graduating from Trinity College in Dublin with a masters in management.
Willie Walsh rose swiftly through the ranks at Aer Lingus to emerge as chief executive in July 2001. In October 2005, he took over from Rod Eddington as chief executive at British Airways.
