Airbus has secured a second commitment for the VIP version of the A350 XWB with an order for a single aircraft, from a private Asian customer, which will be managed by Hong Kong’s BAA Jet Management.
The customer’s identity has not been disclosed. It will be taking the A350-900 variant.
BAA Jet Management is already to operate a VIP A350 XWB on behalf of another customer, Hong Kong business aviation firm C Jet, which committed to the aircraft last year.
Only Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines are available for the type. Airbus describes the engines selected for this particular order as ‘Trent XWB87’ powerplants.
No outfitter for the cabin has yet been publicly disclosed. The twin-jet will be based in Hong Kong. BAA Jet Management is also to operate several Airbus Corporate Jetliners.
