Singapore 2008: Goodrich to supply new A320 cabin crew seats

Airbus has contracted Goodrich to provide improved cabin attendant seats for its A320 family of narrowbody aircraft.

US-based Goodrich says in a statement issued ahead of tomorrow’s formal opening of the Singapore Airshow that the award is expected to lead to $100 million in revenue over the life of the programme.

Goodrich says the seats will be produced by its interiors’ facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Design and development work will start soon and production deliveries should start in the third quarter of this year.

“The 16G single-aisle cabin attendant seats incorporate improvements in reliability and safety, and meet the most stringent government regulations for emergency landing protection,” it says.

“Seats will be installed on new production A320-family aircraft; in addition, airlines may choose to retrofit fleet aircraft with the improved seats.”

Goodrich says that with the new contract its cabin attendant seats will be fitted on Airbus’ entire aircraft family.
