Singapore 2008: Bombardier hopes for CSeries launch this year

Bombardier will have to launch the CSeries programme this year if it is to achieve its entry into service target of 2013.

The regional aircraft maker’s VP of marketing and communications, Trung Ngo, stopped short of saying when the aircraft maker would launch the CSeries programme but says “a decision has to be taken in 2008” if it is to meet the 2013 entry into service target. Trung was speaking to Flight today at the Singapore Airshow.

He says Bombardier has already completed the negotiations with engine maker Pratt & Whitney on the technical and commercial terms for the engine deal.

Bombardier has selected the P&W Geared Turbofan engine for the CSeries.
