Singapore Technologies Aerospace (ST Aero) has opened a new engine test facility, enabling it to extend its maintenance, repair and overhaul capability to the CFM International CFM56-5B engine.
ST Aero says in a statement issued at the Singapore Airshow that the new engine test facility is capable of testing engines up to 90,000lb of thrust.
It says subsidiary ST Aerospace Engines is now able to provide maintenance on the CFM56-5B engine powering the Airbus A320 family. Its investment in the new test facility was around $20 million.
