The Delft University of Technology flew its RoboSwift morphing micro air vehicle (MAV) at the 1st US-Asian assessment and demonstration of micro aerial and unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) technology conference, held in Agra, India last week. The university's team hand-launched the MAV at the Indian Air Force drop zone used for the conference's competitive MAV flights and it made several laps of the test area before making a soft landing. Pictured above are the three stages of RoboSwift's biomimetic morphing capability. At the drop zone competing MAV teams worked with real and simulated UGVs to try to complete a mission involving hostage, terrorist and mine detection.
