Korea Aerospace Industries has received an estimated 200 billion won ($200 million) contract to supply the South Korean air force's Black Eagles aerobatic display team with 10 T-50 advanced jet trainers. The deal will lead to the team reforming in 2010, having retired its Cessna A-37 Dragonflys after last year's Seoul air show. It also boosts KAI's domestic order book for the T/A-50 to 82 aircraft, with 24 delivered so far to support pilot training activities. The manufacturer is jointly marketing the T-50 outside South Korea with Lockheed Martin, with the type being evaluated by the United Arab Emirates and offered for Singapore's Advanced Wings Course, against Alenia Aermacchi's M-346 and BAE Systems' Hawk 128.
