STG Aerospace is showcasing its SafTGlo emergency lighting system.The world’s first photoluminescent emergency exit lighting and replaces normal electrical incandescent bulbs. Effectively it absorbs ambient light from the aircraft’s cabin and stores the energy, if the lighting disappears the SafTGlo system will immediately kick in and provide lighting for up to 16 hours.

STG says the advantage is that there are no running costs associated with the system after installation, and it is now available in more than 300 colours.  Meaning it can be subtly masked to match the colour of the flooring. The latest addition to the SafTGlo family is the OC – or Over Carpet – accessory which is constructed from polycarbonate and the photoluminescent strip from the SafTGlo is then clipped to fit.
