Aircraft Interiors EXPO - Hamburg 2008: breaking news, images and videos

On the final day of the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, flightglobal brings you news that the aircraft interiors industry is facing a crisis unless there is a greater and sudden influx of engineers and skilled labour joining the supply chain.

On a lighter note, Boeing 737 passengers could soon enjoy a spacious lavatory with double windows. The "Lavatory F" has already been installed in an ANA aircraft.

Flightglobal is at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg to bring you all the breaking news, latest image and video of aircraft cabin mock-ups and seat demonstrations, including a mock-up of the first ever exhibited cabin of the Airbus A350 XWB.

There are more than 500 exhibiting companies from 27 countries showcasing the best of what economy, business and first class passengers could be experiencing in the air in months or years to come, including new products displayed in the various halls.

With an eye on concerns about the environmental impact of aviation, the interiors sector is certainly doing its bit by developing ever lighter and more environmentally friendly fixtures, fittings and components in an attempt to cut down on fuel consumption.
